David began his work in the financial service industry as a trade checker/assistant clerk in the Euro-Dollar trading pit at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Upon returning to Florida, he joined Bank of America as residential mortgage lender. Seeing an opportunity to better serve his clients, David established a mortgage company, Griffin Financial, where he could offer highly competitive products in residential and commercial lending. After 9 successful years in lending, David followed his passion back to the financial markets and he completed his Series 7, Series 66, and FL 2-15 licensing. For the next eight years, he worked at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney as a Financial Advisor/ Financial Planning Specialist.
David is dedicated to serving families, foundations, and non-profits with complex financial needs. He enjoys taking the time to understand his client’s personal needs and risk tolerance to help determine short and long-term goals. He believes it is important to partner with his clients to make well-informed decisions about their investment strategy. Strategies and goals include investment management, retirement planning, insurance and long term care, estate planning services and wealth transfer, as well as tax minimization strategies and succession planning for business owners. David uses his experience, along with analytical and fundamental process to provide clients the highest level of satisfaction and sophistication when it comes to managing the client relationship, research, and planning. He works hard to gain a client’s trust and is committed to maintaining a consultative approach to solving problems.
David graduated with a B.A. in Political Science degree at the University of Florida. He is married with 3 beautiful children – a girl and twin boys that keep him very busy! He is also very involved in his community and with several local charities, including Second Harvest, Quest Inc, Second Chance, and Autism Speaks.
